MDC North Campus Presents New Spring Concert Series
During the month of February, Miami Dade College’s (MDC) North Campus presents its first Spring Concert Series, which will feature weekly performances by some of the best musicians in jazz, Latin jazz, fusion, and Afro-Cuban music. All concerts are free and open to the public.

Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Kendall Campus will kick off Black History Month activities with a special program featuring award-winning author and journalist Sophia A. Nelson, Esq., titled Opening Convocation: Black Woman Redefined, at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2. Nelson will share her perspective on the inner lives and challenges of college-educated and accomplished black women in the age of First Lady Michelle Obama.

Miami Dade College’s (MDC) North Campus is hosting the 841st Engineer Battalion as they honor the 175 U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers departing for Afghanistan with a Mobilization Farewell Ceremony at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4 at the campus’ Lehman Theater.

MDC’s Tower Theater to Screen Film on Cuban Artist Luisa Maria Güell
Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Tower Theater will present the world premiere of the documentary film My Decision (Mi decision), about the life of Cuban singer/actress Luisa Maria Güell, at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10. Produced and directed by Agustin Blazquez, the film is part of MDC’s Dos Orillas series. Both Güell and Blazquez will be present at the screening.
